you guys were the better team. we didnt play as a team. there wasn't the same kind of understanding between me and my team as there is with you guys. and i'm not comfortable being at the back. didn't deserve to lose.

As a few said before, we simply outran ourselves and ran out of steam.

We had a more fluid team movement and linked well with some passing and crosses.

However we found we didnt have the same oppurtunities to put the ball away when in front of goal.

Some brave efforts from our team and Toms darting runs all were great to watch.

We need to have/train players to have instinct to shoot and not be afraid to do so.

I feel that piggy in the middle + some one touch passing will greatly improve many players in the future.

Lapse of concentration + tired legs = goals against smile.gif

I was annoyed and vented my frustration at the pitch ground by pounding my fist.

Sadly i bruised my finger LOL !!!

you're right about the scoring thing. people spend too much time on the ball, and just don't take the chances. either that, or they try to pass it. sometimes, it pulls off to be selfish.

even with the main scorers who weren't there, they're not clinical goalscorers. maybe we need to work on shooting practice, possibly concentrating on first-touch shots, volley-shots, and targeting.

passing, i don't really see a problem with. more people have short passing down fairly well. maybe we could vary the game by adding more long balls. i've noticed that they're not used much. the only long balls i see are between rik and myself.

I would safely say that working on passes within midfield and the communication with defence is very important.

As many of you know defence is quite a tight back 4, but lapse of concetration from either parties can lead to problems.

Luckily the back four consisting (usually) of Gum, Tom, Rik(Ray) Andy/BTY/Anthony.

The ability to finish off is simply down to awareness and understandle. It appears anyone and everyone can score, but when its under pressure its a different story.

I would say the defence line probably produces the same amount of goals the strikers/midfield scores throughout the season if you put it in average numbers.

We need the strikers to just not think too much or spend too much time on the ball.

Have the chances and take them. The midfield have to worry about delivering the ball to the attacking mids/strikers.

If the defence can score all the way from defence the strikers should have no reason, but thats my opinion.

Also inportant is positioning. We tend to get clumped up and all chase after the ball rather than making space and running on creating spaces.

Lets try this and talk some tactics on Sunday.

i think my/thavs friends team were quite poor in the first half.
we on defence played so close to the keeper but in the second half (me, minh, thav and chris) we played closer to the halfway line and kept pushing up which made a difference.

we were supposed to play with a defensive mid but didnt really. if we had someone in front of us just getting in the way then it wouldve helped even more.

not enough wing-play from our side even when players were free.

first game in a month so im sure alot of us were more tired than usual.

No the movement from line of defence to midfield gave our team lots of problems, mainly because the pitch was small, therefore the area in which you could actually run in was a few yards in itself.

The only thing that frustrated me was the poor usage of wings from our side. There was a massive clump in the middle of the field, yet time and time again we had players running into the middle getting caught and losing possesion.

If we used the wings more and bringing out the defence on Thavs team, this would have created better chances for us to score.

If you saw towards the end of the game, it was a sea of green bibs vs a few of our players trying to run through.

First game, first loss, first analysis = time to get fit.

Weather is good this week and I hope all can make it. I know a few wont be attending.

But we should be able to get 6 aside at least.
