Ok, I know I have been annoying everyone with my lamentations in game about my obsessive need for a cat mount. So after scouring all resources, I am posting my problem here so that I can stop nagging the crap out of everyone and maybe get a solution.
My end-goal was to get a cat mount from Darnassus. I'm a human so I obviously need to get my Elfy reputation up. I thought I could do that with war effort commendation medals, but I found out that event is over on out server. I then found out that you can give mageweave cloth to an elf in Darnassus and I would get rep.
I did that but it seemed unrepeatable. Now it seems that that it IS repeatable, but you have to be either 50 or 60 to do it.
FINE, I thought. MORE work, but it can be done. Then I found on a forum that it takes almost 700 stacks of mageweave cloth to get exalted status. IF this is true, and they are stacks of sixty like in the original quest to submit mageweave, one would need to gather approx. 42000 mageweave cloths to get exalted. Or only 14000 if its for normal stacks.



WTF!!!!!!!!!!

I asked a GM for help and they smiled and refered me to the wow forums. Ugh...

Am I right here? Is this the truth? Is there another way? I would appreciate any input into my query. Thanks guys. I'll try not to be so annoying in the future. ^^

one of the easyest ways to get elf rep is questing for them. that gets a bunch of rep each quest. aprox. 250 a quest some times 25 or 15 but just doing quests will also lower the total # of cloth stacks u need to hand in b/c u now have some standing allready with the elfs.
doing just the starting area quests will get you honored then moving into darkshore will get you almost to revered. then when u hand in ur 60 cloths u now have some exting rep with the elfs and therefor take less cloth in the long run.
and u get some cool things from the elfs (like my hatchling thing that looks like a murlock with wings)

Yes, but I think you can get more rep now. You probably read an old forum, but i know they put the Rep. bonus UP. I have a friend , Shes a draenei shaman and shes riding a horse. Yes, I was like WTF, level 40, and exalted with SW rep?. He said, he did it coz of the quest and the rep bonus.

You are correct. The rep rewards for the lower level quests have been significantly increased since the release of BC. I would suggest going to the NE starting ares and do some of them. You won't get much exp. (depending on your currrent level) but you should still get decent rep. In addition, try to grab as many of the Lunar New Year NPCs as you can right now. This event is up soon but grants 75 rep for all alliance factions for each NPC you talk to.

if you want a cat mount so bad... are you willing to have a black war tiger? cause those are easy enought to get... just get 30 of each medal i believe... and buy them from the officer's lounge in SW or w.e .... you need to be 60 i think tho
