Vadakumnathan is the ongoing film of director Shajoon Karyal. Mohanlal and Padmapriya plays the lead, accompanied by Biju Menon, Balchandra Menon, Murali, Kalabhavan Mani and others. It is for the first time Shajoon Karyal and Mohanlal are coming together. The film is being produced by Baba movies.

Mohanlal (Bharat Pisarady) is a Sanskrit Professor, whose marriage has been fixed with Padmapriya (Mira). Padmapriya is also his student. The date is fixed and the arrangement is made when the news is received that Pishardy is missing. The rest of the plot revolves around the suspense.

The film has been shot in locations like in Haridwar- Rishikesh- Puri and Kanhangad in Kerala. Ravindran has given the music for the movie
