I climbed up the rigging to the crows nest as was looking for Sleepy I.
I know that this area was off limits to passengers but what the captain doesn't know won't hurt him.
I find Sleepy at the top. I am not quite sure what he is doing...

"Hello," I say, "so this is where you work? It is very high."

I looked down and suddenly felt a little dizzy. It WAS high. And cold too!

i replyed "yes this is where i work you can see very far and people look like ants from here its fun to throw from the top here down there" i laughted.

i could tell he was regreting cominy up here i asked
"are you okay"

"I will be thank you.... It's just a little high up here!"

I looked down at the deck again and then sat down inside the crows nest. I looked at Sleepy I.

"Do you want to make yourself some money?" I asked him.

Make Money how? i asked unsure what he was trying to say.

"As you know I am writing a novel and it is hopefulyl going to be a best seller," I said, "the story will be brilliant, after all I am a brilliant writer. However my book needs publisity. The people need to know about my book! Therefore if this journey that the 'Kingston' is taking became famous, then my book would also."

I paused for added effect.

"Perhaps you could find a way to make this journey more exciting... maybe even dangerous. That would get the ship... and my book... in the newspapers! I would of course compensate you. Say... 8% of all takings?"

i was shocked at what he just said "i will not do anything of the sort or put the ship or the crews life in jeperdy even thow the voyage we are going to take is alredy big in the news papers and we are going to go threw dangerus waters so i will just do my job and it your book will still be big but first let us set sail and see if any of ur make it back" i saw mr Cander face just fall in front of me "im sorry but im the eyes of the ship and i dont want to be responcerbul for any lifes or damage to the ship. i repect the captain and i would like to make it home some day"

"Er... of course..." I said quickly, "I didn't mean for you to cause any damage or put any lives in danger..."

I stumbled. I had to think of a way to get out of this quick.

"What I meant was... will you inform me of anything interesting that might take place that... that would not normally be told to passengers?"

"What like an inside story?" i think i mught of got the wrong end of the stick

"Yes yes! An inside story!" I grinned, "I know you promised that hag Helen Corr your story when you returned but perhaps you could leave out certain... details. The more juicy stuff! You and I could then write our own article for the newspaper! Get all the money for ourselves!!!"
