Characters appearence: Arlo is a tall man, and very slender. He has a long face which is usually smiling under his head of grey hair. He wears a small pair of spectacles which help him to read and perform his botanist duties.
He always wears a smart, tweed jacket with apari of straight brown trousers, which he always irons a crease into!

Characters personality: Jovial, though bookish, Arlo works quietly but throughly in the background. He doesn't like being the centre of attention and will often stay aone for days, not talknig to anyone, just getting on with his work. When he does socialise, he is friendly with many thoughts to express into words. He has a great love for his work and takes great pride in it. If his work is ever critisised, he will take it to heart.
Arlo cannot swim.

Character background: Arlo's cousin was the great botanist Sir Joseph Banks and so has a family reputation to live up to. He was raised in a botanical garden with his nature loving parents, so he knew a lot about botany from an early age.
When the time came, he decided to travel as much of the world as possible to discover more about the worlds plant life.
Travelling most of europe and asia, he decided it was time to expand his horizons to the uncharted waters, so applied for a position onboard the Kingston and was accepted.

Anything else you wish to add: Arlo has a pet dog, named Geoff, onboard with him who is his loyal friend and has been for many years. Geoff is very intelligent, almost as intelligent as Arlo himsefl is, and definatly more intelligent then many of the people of this world!
