(continued from iceberg)
The staircase was long and winding. I had been walking down it for what seemed like hours. I guess it had really been about ten minutes. Every now and then I had slipped on the icey surface of the steps and only just managed to stop myself from sliding all the way down to the bottom!
It was so dark in the staircase. After a few minutes had no longer been able to see the light from the way I arrived and there was no light at the bottom. I began to wonder if there was a bottom.
I could not see MrR Cander, although I kept calling out for him. I also could not see anyone above me. I had no idea if any of my group followed me down here.
Eventually I saw a very dim light below me. I was comnig to the end!
I stepepd off the staircase and found myself in some sort of corridor. It wasn't very wide but it stretched for what seemed like forever! The light came from tiny balls of light within the ice walls of the corridor. I stared at the balls of light in wonder, confused as to how they shone.
"Mr Cander?" I called, "are you down here?"
