I stood on the deck looking out at the dark green waters of the unknown. The water swirled and sloshed about the hull of the ship as we sailed further and further out into the ocean.
It had been over a month now since the dangerous events at Port Town and we had sailed away from Devil Island. We had had a difficult time since then. The sea had been dangerous and we had all had to work twice as hard just to keep the ship afloat. We had almost lost several crewmembers as the high waters had splashed over the side of the bow, trying to sweep us out to sea.
Now the waters had calmed and things seemed to be settling down. The clouds had finally departed and the sun was shining down on us. I looked at my crew who had pulled together very well in the last month. The new crewmembers become a part of the team and were very strong workers.
Jemima Lawrence was at the wheel. I gave her a smile and she waved back to me happily. I had given her orders to sail the ship northwards, where I had seen a group of gulls flying in the distance. Perhaps there was land out there... somewhere.
My own mood had become a slightly happier one since the storms had calmed. Plus my old friend Petes' mood had changed for the better. He seemed to be coping better then I had ever seen him cope before.
However Mister Johns was still in a bad way. He rarely left his quarters and refused to speak to anyone.
I sat down at the bow of the ship and let the waves splash on my hands. I was finally at some kind of peace with the world and myself. The only thing left now was for me to find the Sea Monster that destroyed my old ship and crew. Once I had taken my revenge on the monster... then I would be truly happy.
I turned as I heard footsteps approaching...

I approached the captain who wa ssitting at the front of the ship. "Hello sir," I said as I sat down next to him, "another nice morning again!"
It had been a difficult month with many troubles as we sailed through countless storms, but through all these hard times I had been happy. My brother was back!
Tyler had been helping me understand the strange things that we could do. He had told me that it was due to our real father being Leig-Ruin.
Tyler and I now had a connection stronger then any connection we ever had. If I concentrated hard enough, I could even feel the emotions that he was feeling.
I watched the gulls in the distance and couldn't feeling that there was some sor tof dred out there. I shuck it away. My feelings were all over the place at the moment since Tyler had been teaching me.
"I wonder what we will encounter next on our voyage," I said to the captain after some time.
I laid back and basked in the morning suns ray...

I watched as the Captain and Tess stood out on deck in the sun, I was glad that the storms had stopped, we'd had our hands full in the medical bay lately, what with everyone feeling sea sick and getting various types of colds and flus.
I walked out from below deck as the sun hit my eyes, I squinted and continued to walk towards them although I should probably keep my distance.
It made a change for the sun to be shining, something I missed so much, the seas were rough but I couldn't complain.
I had made a lot of friends on the way and got to know some people better.
I folded my arms and leant up against the mast of the ship, watching the waves bob the ship up and down.
We must be near land as thier were sea gulls above our heads, land, something we hadn't seen for about a month now I wondered to myself where the Journey would take us this time, what we would run into.
Nothing too bad I hoped.

"I'd take the time in the sun whilst you still can," I said to the doctor, "for on this ship.. in these waters... dark times are just around the corner. They always are."
I leaned against a railing, a bottle in my hand. It was the first time I had left my quarters in weeks... but still I was not sober.
"Death stalks us my dear," I grinned, "it rides behind this ship on the waves."
I took another gulp of my drink and looked at the doctor. She had been the only person who had tried to communicate with me these last few weeks. Was she supposed to be my saviour? I scoffed. My only saviour was death for sure.
I looked up to the sun and closed my eyes. It felt refreshing on my face. For a second my life did not seem so bad. But only for a second.

"Well its nice to see you out, finally" I said to him with a sigh, I looked at him, he still didn't look well and the stubburn old man didn't want me to go anywhere near him.
"Death may be behind us 'lovey' but I am the one who cheats death" I looked at him and the down at his hands which he held a bottle of rum in.
"You know, drinking never got anyone anywhere....except the hospital" I looked back at the sea and away from him.
He was too stubburn for my liking, and I didn't like stubburn people.
But I was probably the most stubburn person on board.
"Tell me something Mister Johns, what is your real name?" I asked, "and why do you insist on staying locked away? rotting in the dark?"

Leaving the control room for some fresh air and some sun I stepped onto the deck. I saw the doctor and Mister Johns deep in conversation so decided to stay away from them. I didn't want to intrude.
So instea dI walked over to the captain and Tess Bail, one of the engineers, who were sitting at the front of the ship.
"Everythings going smoothly captain," I said to him as I approached, "this ship is sailing calmly in towards those birds. Its such a beautiful day!"

"Aye it is a glorious day!" I rumbled and strode out onto the deck. They all seemed like they haven't seen the true sun light in a long while. "The engines are running along fine and everything is going well is see."
For the first time on the journey in the unchartered waters I had no feeling of dread. In the past things have been going fine and then we some how get into a terrible situation, but now I felt things will work out fine. Our troubles where all behind us now and we can get on with the journey. It actually felt like we were sailing for once and not on some wild adventure.
"I think it would be nice if we could have some kind of holiday, you know like a place we can vacate to and relax? After all the events at port town I think we all deserve a break."

Hate to admit it but he was probably right. The way he stood with his stupid fake eye patch and beard. He made me sick!
Well actually I was gripping onto the railing quite tight and I had a strange urge not to let go. The sea seemed to be swishing around and my belly was spinning in circles. Maybe it wasn't him that was making me sick. Mabye I shouldn't have had all that to drink. Either way I didn't like him.
"Can't we slow down a touch I think we're going a bit to fast!"
Okay yes I know! I know!!!
I'm sea sick

I'd been leaning forward against the railing of the ship, looking down at the blue waters below, trying to keep myself to myself while everyone else was chating onboard. I was glad to be back at sea, back where I belonged, where I felt at home.
I was just about to pull out my notepad from my pocket to write down a few of my thoughts, something I had been doing alot since arriving on the ship, when I noticed Togan the Dwarf looking rather ill....ok, VERY ill!
"Mr Togan? Are you ok?"
The dwarf just looked at me and shook his head, eyes bulging, face turning green.
It seemed every person I delt with on this ship was suffering with sickness!
"Here, give this a go, just look into the flame then close your eyes when I say..."
And I repeated the process of the beguiling candle which I had used earlier on Mr Cander.
"Feel any better?"
