(continued from my quarters)

I entered the science labs. I found Hazel Caress and Laura Lantern talking whilst sipping cups of tea.
"No time to joni yuo I am afraid," I said with a happy ring in my voice, "busy, busy busy!"
I laid down the plant that I had fonud floating in the sea on the counter and took out my microscope. As always, Hazel and Laura didn't respond to me and continued their chat, almost ignoring my presence. I did not mind. I knew that I could get over excited at times and talk too much. But today I had reason to excited!

"My word," I uttered, "this... this is impossible..." I checked the microscope again and did further tests on the plant. My findings were correct. "This plant," I said, turning to my two fellow scientists, "is from the pre-historic days... it rew when dinosaurs once roamed the earth! But this is impossible as this plant became extinct millions of years ago!"

OH DEAR!

Suprise suprise..I was lost, I was always told by my father my strong sense of smell was to make up for the absence of a sense of direction!

As I walked down one of the corridors carrying a glass of water I heard voices, ah, follow the voices, be lost no more, feel less like an outsider...good plan Scarlet!!

As I peaked around the door, making sure I hadn't just walked in on someone doing something which would further my embarrassement, I saw a gentleman I half recognised, he seemed to be studying a plant, a rather spectacular plant.

I heard the man talking, the 2 women in the room seemed to be ignoring him, I felt a little sorry for him as it was clear he was excited and being quite curious of this plant myself I made my presence known

"WHAT is that?" I asked hardly taking my eyes from the plant "It's amazing"

Arlo pulled his glasses to the end of his nose and looked down at me, he gave me a kind smile, poked his glasses back to his eyes and let out a little chuckle, clearly thankful for having somebody to talk to about his discovery and for the first time aboard this ship I felt an instant connection with a crew member and hoped very much this was the start of a friendship....

I looked up and saw the new nurse in the doorway. She seemed to have taken an interest in this plant that I had found. I looked around to make sure she was talknig to me. She was!
"Well it is a plant that became extinct millions of years ago," I said to her, "it shouldn't be on this earth! I do not fully understand... but then this is the uncharted waters! Anything is possible here! Would you like to take a closer look? Oh don't worry... its perfectly safe... I think!"

I smiled, feeling rather shy "Excuse me if I don't touch it! It's tempting tho, its like nothing I have ever seen, where did you find it?"

Looking at the plant made me feel strange, I couldn't explain it...there was something about this plant...something magical!

"I'm sure being a professional like yourself you have all the books in the world that you need, but if there is one thing I cherish it is my books, I've never seen a plant like this, but with closer inspection we might be able to find something about it? Feel free to come to my quarters anytime to have a look."

I looked down at the glass of water I was carrying.

"Oh! I forgot I am needed elsewhere!" I held my hand out to the man "I am Scarlett by the way!"

"Hello Scarlett," said I, pushing past Arlo and shaking her by the hand.

I looked her up and down. She was pretty. I flicked my long blonde hair out and fluttered my eyelids, sticknig out my ample cleavage. She would get the picture soon enough and relasie that I was the best looking woman on this ship. Not that I didn't like a bit of friendly competition.

"Tell me Scarlett," I said, "where did you get your hair done before you came onboard? You nkow there aren't many oportunities to pamper ones self onboard a ship full of sweaty men."

"Sweaty men?" I muttered under my breath, "speak for yourself!"
I turned back to the plant and gasped. It was dead. Not onyl was it dead but it dissolving before my eyes!
"Now this IS odd!" I said.
Within seconds the jar in which is sat was completely empty. Not a single sign of the plant remained.
"Nothing is supposed to do that!"
But then this is the uncharted waters... who knows what is out here. Still, I wished I could have taken a closer look at it before it disapeared.

This was the first time I had come across Hazel, I wasn't quite sure how to take her, she was attractive, a little obvious, but she certainly knew how to....eccentuate...her better features.
I didn't get the impression she was wanting anything more than to make me feel insignificant so I thought it best to humour her...see if she could take a joke

"I've always done my hair myself, I make my own products from herbs and plants, I'm pretty sure I have something in my bag that would be good for yours, I see what you mean about a lack of pampering!" I gave her a knowing smile, "Tho, if there is no-one onboard to impress I'm sure it doesn't really matter!"

Just then Mr Banks brought our attention to the plant....

THAT was not natural...
There was something unearthly about this plant and now we may never find out what it was....

"Very unusual," I muttered to myself.
I was so lost in thought that I completely forgot about everyone else in the room. I picked up the glass jar and sniffed it. It had a strange acidic smell to it. How unusual.
Making odd little noises, I walked around the people standing in the science lab and left the room. I had to lie down on my bed and think about this one. It was one of those mysteries that gave me a headache!

-----NEW STORYLINE-----

I burst into the science labs, there were a couple of people in the room who were shocked when I entered. It was the first time I had left my quarters in weeks.

"CURE ME!" I shouted. I was clearly drunk. "I cannot take it anymore! I want rid of this disease! And I do not want to die! CURE ME! I BEG OF YOU!"

I fell to my knees, tears flowing down my face.

"Please... cure me..."

I heard shouting comnig from the science labs so as the cheif of security aronud here, it was my job to investigate it.
I enter the lab and see Mister Johns is in here. I tut to myself. This is all I need! Johns has been increasingly difficult of late.

I rest my hand on his shoulders. I know what is wrong with him. It is the werewolf that he becomes that he wants to get rid of.
"Its alright Mister Johns," I said to him, "lets get you back to your quarters hey? Youlook like you need rest?"

He began to shout once again aobut finding a cure so I look to the scientists.
"Any chance of a cure been found for Msiter Johns?" I ask
