A little - alright, very - drunk, I stumble into the medical bay after being sick at least seven times.

"Doctor... er... *hic*... Doctor D," I call. I look around the room. I could see three chairs, three tables, three windows, three thermometres. I looked at my hand - I could see three of that too!

My stomach lurched. I tried to hold it down but it was no use. The floor suddenly became a sticky green mess. "Oh well," I thought to myself, "someone else will clean it up."

As the doctor clearly was not in the room I decided to find the medicine I was looking for myself. I stumbled over to a cabinet and opened it. Ther ewas all sorts of strange looking items inside, however I couldn't see anything for sea sickness - or alcohol sickness - or both!

There was an odd box at the back. "Perhaps... *hic*... the medicine I need is in there," I said a little louder then I meant to. As the box was behind a number of items I did not move it but just slipped my hand inside and rumages about.

It appeared empty!

However when I removed my hand I noticed a number of small black things had attached themself to me. I took a closer look.

"AAAARRRRR *hic* RRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!" I screamed. My hand was covered in leeches!

As I scrambled around trying to remove the foul creatures from my hand I slipped and fell backwards into the cabinet - knowking all of it's contents onto the floor. A large bottle of grey liquid smashed on my head. Stars shone before my eyes and I slowly fell unconscious...

I returned from the Recreational Deck to hear a loud CRASH! coming from the Medical Bay. Obviously, such a crash is not something you like to hear from your Medical Bay, so the sight of Mr Cander on the floor of my workplace startled shocked and angered me somewhat.

Ever the professional, I had to care about the patient first, and after making sure he was unconcous, and not worse, I moved him to a comfortable position (with some help from that Pete fellow) - the stench of Whiskey was quite powerful, and mixed with Pete's Rum smelling breath quite a cocktail was forming in my nose. I wiped the various medicines from his brow, and told Pete to make sure he didn't roll onto his side while I cleaned up the mess.

The leeches were (for the most part) still alive, so I collected them up and placed them back into a jar. A few however, were not so lucky, and found themselves crushed under various books that were on the cabinet at the time. It was about that moment that I sighed, although most of what I had bought today had survived - I assume Mr Cander's "ample" figure broke their fall without breaking - most of my older stuff was now in a pool of glass and medicine, which took around thirty minutes to clean up.

By this time, Mr Cander had began to come around. "Whhaa..." he moaned inchompresinbily. "Mr Cander, what were you doing unsupervised in the Medical Bay? In fact, I'm not sure I want to know - now the best thing I can perscribe for you at the moment is a good nights sleep."

As Pete helped Mr Cander back to his quarters. I made my way back to mine, and, glancing outside, noticed it was dark and more shopping would have to wait till tomorrow. Miss Thorn popped her head around the door - "Bad night Doctor?" - she asked as I lay on my bed staring at the celing. I replied by nodding my head. "Ah well, Goodnight Doctor." she skipped down the ship with a spring in her step - she seemed so cheerful - completely the opposite of me.

I thought about the Innkeeper and his daughter. Grasping the Pocket Watch in my hand, this was the thought that carried me once more to my sleep, hoping that tomorrow might at least be more...simple...

Entering the Medical bay, i could see that there had been a tussle here, i could only imagine what! after seeing that tables had been knocked over, and glass slivers on the floor, that the Doc must've missed, i came to the conclusion that both the Doc, and Mr Cander, must've retired to their cabins.

I knew that Mr Cander would be out for the count, after being Drunk, and concussed, so he would be of no use questioning, for now.

I had thought of questioning the Doc, but realising that this was not the best time, i waited, pondering on my next course of action.

I enter the medical bay to confront our latest crew member - 'Sleepy' I.
I heard he had a little accident...

"Mr. I," I say as I walk over to him. He attempts to stand.
"Please don't get up," I continue, "I welcome you onboard the ship however I must say something to you - this ship is ging into dangerous waters and I have heard of your background. As the captain i have to make sure that all crewmembers are working at top of their abilities. That means no more 'little' accidents. I will also not tloerate laziness on my ship!"

I looked at him for a moment.

"you must decide now if this is right for you - because when we're out at sea there will be no port to drop you off... which means there's only one place you'll be 'dropped'. Make your decision - stay and work hard or leave us now."

I waited for his answer.

(by the way we haven't set ail yet.)

I return to the ship to see a man with a bottle of pills in his hand. The Captain informs me that this may be our new lookout.

"I thought I should mention," I say to the new recruit, "That I could have probably given you something better for free."

Sleepy looks a little disheartened - "Ah well, not to worry eh?" he says chirpily, which was a little suprising given his inital look.
