I opened the door to my shop. It was another grey morning in Port Town. People were already about doing their daily beusiness. Many folk had headed down to the port to see if the rumours about the Kingstons return were true. I wasn't too fussed if it was or not. The Kingstn was the ship that Luni Mwah had sailed on and since her departure, I had had so many more customers. People used to go to her for their 'magic' needs but instead now they had been coming here!

I put some fresh herbs and spices up onto the shelf. Of course most of the items I sold were not for true magic. Most people didn't believe in true magic anyway. The items I sold were purely for 'fun'. Tarrot cards, euegee boards, potions for silly little spells, lucky rabbits feet... those kind of things.

Of course there were some items in my shop, that in the right hands, could be used for very powerful magic. One of those items I held in my hand right now. To the untrained eye it was just a feather. A large black crows feather. But to a more sophisticated customer this could be used as-

The bell rang as the door opened and my first customer of the day arrived. Droopy I. Droopy I lived down 1st Lane with his mother, brothers and sisters. They were a very poor family since their father disapeared many years ago. Droopy always came here buying good luck charms.

"What will it be today Droopy?" I asked.

"Four leaf clover!" he said with a grin.

I passed him one and, as I was in a generous mood, I allowed him to have it for free. He thanked me and, as he was also the local paperboy, handed me todays newspaper. He then said his goodbyes and left my shop.

I looked at the front page of the paper and shuck my head. It seemd that awful cult had struck again. It seemed that Farmer Gillian was last nights victim. They had burnt all of his cattle in some ritual sacrifice. This cult was getting out of hand... and still no one knew wht the cult worshipped.

I put the paper down and went back to my shelf stocking...

Bursting into the shop, my heart was thumping in my chest and sweat dripped down my forehead.

I breathed heavily and gasped out as I saw the shop owner. "Thy..." I stuttered, trying to grasp the language "...I apologise for my rude interuption."

Catching my breath, I tried to think of a convosation starter, to buy some time. "What wears do you sell here?"

The women looked at me with a foul expersion, then her gaze looked downard and she began to laugh. I follwed her eyes and noticed that I wore no clothes.

This naked, panicking man, stood in my shop completely naked! I could not help but find the whole situation highly amusing! The man seemed so strange.

"Are you alright?" I asked, "What happened to your clothing? Here..."

I passed him a blanket and he wrapped himself up in it.

"Now I am sorry sir," I continued, "but I cannot have a naked man in my shop. Why, apart from people getting the wrong idea about us, you would also scare away my customers!"

I tied the blanket around my pale white skin.

"Sorry about my sudden interuption," I said, managing to catch my breath. "I am Vestar...G.." I almost said 'God' and then quickly changed my words "...Great Magician of the North." I noticed I was in a magic shop so I completely lied on the spot, a magician would be a perfect customer.

"I do simple magic," I said, gaining confidence, "Usually dissappearance illusions, thus the lack of clothing my fair lady." But really it was my transport that had taken my cloths, my transfer would not allow me to take anything from the Realm of Lunea.
I was never good at Realm switching, I had only been a God for a few hundred years.

"May I borrow a few garaments from thee?"

this strange man was becoming stranger to me by the second. A great magician from the north? This comment was almost laughable. Everyone knew that there were no magicians from the north! Pus... why would he want to make his clothes disapear?

"Well I would let you borrow some clothnig," I said carefully, "but unfortunatly I am a female and you are a male... you may get some funny looks wearing females clothing around Port Town."

The seemed a little confused when I told him this. I felt kind of sorry for him.

"Look," I said, "I have one or two of my brothers old things still in my flat upstairs. I shall fetch them for you. Don't touch any of the merchandise whilst I am gone!"

I went upstairs to look for the old clothes...

I was staring at the items in my own world and I thought about Shynira and what she had done to me. Then a woman spoke from behind, I jumped from suprise and I fell back and smashed into the display of magical goods and they tumbled all over the floor.

I was not used to the other Realm, I could not handle it any longer. Every little thing made me scared, the way everyone had there own set paths and they whisked about the town in an unpredictable way. People constantly interupted my actions, everyone wants to know exactly what I am doing.

I lay there on the floor, covered in worthless items. Shynira was right, I am useless. I am a fool.

I cried out "Shynira take me back! Please I beg you!"

"Not until your task is done"
she snapped back.

I stopped.

I turned my head and looked at the items. A black feather drew my attention, Carol Fold had it in her hand the moment I walked in. Everything else lying next to me seemed worthless, apart from this.

I snatched it from the wreck and stood up. I held it to the mid-morning light and run my fingers through it. Why did I regonise this feather? I heard footsteps from the stairs and I also felt the look off Barbara I.
I just the second realised I was in a difficult situation.

this man was strange. i didnt trust him. why was he naked? and why did he seem so jumpy? and who had he spoken to before?

"i asked do you know where carol felds is?"

but as i spoke carol came down the stairs holding some clothes. she was shocked that the naked man was on the floor and had knocked over one of her shelves.

"should i contact the authorities?" i asked her

As I got to the bottom of the stairs I could not beleive my eyes. The naked man was ina heap on the ground and had clearly knocked over one of my shelves. Many of my shops wares were scattered all over the place.

I looked to Barbara I who was standing looking as gobsmacked as me.

"No not yet," I said in respoce to Barbara I's question about contacting the authorities, "Let us give this man the benefit of the doubt."

I threw the clothes I held in my hands to him.

"Put these on. Then tell me just who you are," I said.

There was something about this man that just did not fit in with everything else in the world. I had dealt with many things strange in my life. Being the owner of a magic shop I knew a good many things. And for some reason I sensed something strange about the naked man. There was something... magical about him...

I grabbed the clothes and quickly put them on. I hid the black feather in my hand.

"I am called Vestar and I was a God." I turned and walked to the door. "Forgive me Carol, I have stolen."

I opened the door and ran into the busy streets. Mixing in with the crowd.
