I gathered the entire crew in the recreation area to introduce to them the newest member on our ship... Johnny Finklle!

"Johnny is an entertainer," I said with a smile, "I thought we needed someone to lighten to mood a little bit so invited him along! Now he's swedish so be nice... ladies and gentlemen... Johnny Finklle!"

Johnny stepped forward....

I sat in my chair in the recreation area, nearly all of the crew was packed inside. Drinking my jug of beer I watched Johnny Finkle, our entertainer step out. Olivia and Tess were sat at my table.

I turned to Olivia and tried to speak above the noise of the crew. "It's about time we had some entertainment on this ship"

Johnny started to talk on stage and the crew cheered at his entrance

I poured out two glasses of wine and then passed the bottle over to Tess. It was a good atmosphere in here tonight, as if the troubles of the last few days had been washed away.

Everyone was having a good time! Max and Brian were chatting happily whilst Emmsi was laughing at Phoenix's attempts to sing! Sleepy I sat with me and Tess and Pete and the Captain chatted away to one another.

"You're right Pete," I said in responce to the cheif engineers question, "it is good! ANd johnny seems like a friednly man! If you'll excuse me..."

I stood up with the extra glass of wine and walked over to Johnny.

"Here you are," I said passing him the glass, "it's nice to meet you. My nam is Olivia, I'm an engineer!" I extended my hand and johnny took it and shuck it...

Johnny Finklle... I thought to myself as I entered the room, poured myself a glass of whisky and sat down... where had I heard that name before?

I sat quietly in the corner of the room and watched the people enjoy themselves. Watching was somehting I often did. I was not usesd to social gatherings and found it hard to 'let my hair down'.

As I sat I watched our entertainer. Johnny Finklle. I had definatly heard his name before but I could not for the life of me remember where...

i was nervous the crowd was loud and rawdy as i stepped onto the stage, i keep saying to myself.... they are going to love this joke so there i went..
rite ladies and gentlemen i have a quick joke before lunch that may get ur bellies rummbling! biggrin.gif so here goes.....

An 18th-century vagabond in England, exhausted and
famished, came to a roadside Inn with a sign reading
"George and the Dragon."

He knocked.
The Innkeeper's wife stuck her head out a window.
"Could ye spare some victuals?"
The woman glanced at his shabby, dirty clothes. "No!" she shouted.
"Could I have a pint of ale?"
"No!" she shouted.
"Could I at least use your privvy?"
"No!" she shouted again.
The vagabond said, "Might I please...?"
"What now?" the woman screeched, not allowing him to finish.
"D'ye suppose," he asked, "that I might have a word with GEORGE!?"

An odd silence filled the air.

Someone coughed.

"Ha ha ha ha ha!" I laughed, hoping that it sounded realistic, and began to clap my hands. I looked to everyone else in the room and raised my eyebrows.

At once everyone else began to laugh and clap!

"A fine joke sir," I shouted, "Really well told!"

I clapped slowly as the cogs turned in my head. I turned to the people sitting near me.

"I don't get it," I said, "Who's George?"

I laughed out loud! A laughter that bellowed through the ship! A sswung amr head back and let it all roar out! It was a good deap, hearty laguh, the likes of which I had not laughed now for some time!

"A brilliant joke Johnny Finklle sir!" I shouted, "pay no heed to the rest of these imbaciles! They would not know humour if it came up and hit them in the face! Bravo sir! More! I want more of your splendid humour!"

I swigged back another glass of whisky and let out a loud belch. I then poured another one and raised it up to the amazing Johnny Finklle, before knocking that one back too...
