I entered thwe gloomy engine room. They say that if the control room is the brain of the ship, then the engine room is the heart - and they are right!

I loved engines, I always had. This one was great! It was large, dirty and noisey - jut how I liked them! The smell of oil filled my lungs and I rubbed my hand along the engines casing.

So this is where I would be spending most of my days. The room was so big and dark that any other woman would have been scared all alone down here - not me though. I was scared of nothing.

I looked forward to meeting 'Pirate' Pete, my boss. He has a good reputation.

I entered the engine room, this was a mighty engine, I could smell the thick oil in my nose. It was good to be back on board a ship. I glanced round and saw a sight in which I havent seen in years...a woman.
I introduced my self, she repiled, but I could see from her eyes she was like no other normal woman.
'Hi, I'm Pete, nice meeting you. If theres any thing you want or need, jus' let me know...Say, want some brandy?'

Olivia introduced herself and was glad to accept my drink. I was looking forward with working with her.

"Nice to meet you Pete, I've heard a lot about you!" I said grinning like a cat, 'Pirate' Pete was like a hero to us engineers. "I would love to have some brandy with you!" I felt like a giggling schoolgirl.

Just as Pete and I where about to leave the engine room through the main door, something clattered in the dark. I looked back into the shadows. Was someone else down there with us? I looked to Pete who was also staring into the shadows.

Afte rhearing the captains message for us to meet him on the deck, I decide to leave the engine room and report that strange noise to the captain himself.
I hope that Pete will follow me. I don't want him to get hurt.

I breathe a sigh of relief - they didn't see me! I continue to search in the draws of the engine rooms filing cabinet - what I want must be here!
Then I find it - captain Warners maps, now I know where he is heading. I quickly copy them down on a scrap of paper and put it in my back pocket.

As I turn to leave I notcie a small stream of smoke coming from the engine. Being a captain myself I know a problem when I see one. someone has puntured a hole in the engines casing!

Entering the Engine Room, i felt the intense heat against my face, almost drying up all the moisture on my skin.

Knowing i was under orders to look for signs of disturbance i continued...

Looking round, i saw signs that people had been down here, several hours ago, Probably Pirate Pete, and Ms Thorn, looking around their new working quarters.

Then something came to my attention. Coming from one one of the side panels, were footprints, outlined in some kind of oil or sludge. They were heading toward the engine, and stopped just at the outercasing, near the valve placings.

I strained my eyes closer to investigate.

"What the...?" I saw that there was a hole in the engine casing. "This can't be good!"

I immediately sped round, to leave, as i knew that the Captain needed to know of this. Gathering a sample of the sludge, i left the Engine room in a hurry, to report my findings to the Captain

I watch as the large man leaves the engine room - he must know that I am here! I am unsure however it he realises that the engine is damaged.
I come out from the shadows now that he has left the room and examine the hole in the engines closer. It appears that the hole was made with some sort of sharp implement. There was no doubt about it, someone has tried to sabotage the ship!
Realising that I would be blamed for this, I turn to leave.
However, rushing for the door I bump stright into another man - a man with a patch over his eye - Pirate Pete, the ships cheif engineer!
He grabs me by the shoulder...

I watched him. He examined the engines damage as he emerged from the shadows. He did not see me. As he approached the door, he saw me and he looked like he saw the fright of his life.
I grabbed him hard on the shoulder

"Ahhh... what have we here, oh dear, oh dear. What do you think your up to sonny jim?" I snareled in his face, he was terrified, and dare not answer. He looked down at the floor

"If you don't start answering my questions, something really bad might happen to you..."
I pulled my sword sharply out with my free hand, I could hear the wind slide past the blade as I pressed it to his head.

"So...Lets hear it"

Hoping to avoid losing my head to this crazy man I raise my hands in the air.
"Alright... you caught me! I know what this looks like but I didn't sabotage your ship... why would I?"
As I talk Pirate Pete notices the paper in my pocket. He pulls it from me and looks at it, relaising that it is my copies of Captain Warners map.
"This is all a misunderstanding," I say, "Look, I'm an old friend of Adrians... in fac we had dinner earlier today! Take me to him and we can sort all of this out... you'll see!"

"Okay, if you say so, I still won't trust you though laddy, not till I hear the truth" I mumbled

I then dragged his quivering body to go and visit Captian Warner

"I hope for your sake I am mistaken about you, I'm also an old friend of Adrian" I shouted, as I pulled him up the steps
