Here begins part five of our journey into the unknown - which has been created by Mister Johns. As we should all know by now, I am currently dead, but shall hopefully be returning soon (grrr to George Cander and Sleepy I!), so for the time being, Sergeant Phoenix Sheppard is in command. So without further ado I shall hand you all over to him...

The sea splashed against the hull of the ship and I stared out into it's castness. From here - at the bow of the Kingston, it looked as though the sea went on forever, that the sky and sea merged, becomming one.

A cool wind fell on my face and blew away my troubles for a while.

I had been nominated to take command of the Kingston after Captain Warner's untimely death. It was a job I was happy to do, although I will be even happier when the captain is returned to us. Hopefully, George Cander and Sleepy I will give us the cannister that can bring the captain back to life. He knows uncharted waters better then anyone else onboard and is probably the only person who could get us through this.

Other thoughts crossed my mind a we sailed further into the unknown. Darren Blank was one of them. He was still onboard our ship and had hardly spoken to anyone since being here.
There was also the matter with Kruger, who is still in our brig, and Half-Face Franky, who is missing - hiding somewhere on the ship. He had to be caught.

Something caught my eye in the distance, bobbing up and down in the water. I looked to the crows nest and saw that Pipey McGraw had spotted it too. It looked like wood but we were too far away to be sure. What was wood doing way out here? There was nothing around us for miles and miles.

I motioned to Mister Johns who, after he showed his skill on the wheel when escaping from that terrible sea creature, was a constant feature inthe control room. He turned the wheel and we began to move towards the floating wood.

As we came closer to it it became obvious that it was wood - it looked like it could have been part of the hull of a ship.

"All stop!" I shouted to Mister Johns. I then turned to Brian Crandle, 'Lower the anchor!"

I made my way to one of the escape boats and climbed inside. I asked Emmsi and Pirate Pete to join me. The boat was lowered into the water and we began to row towards the wood...

I was unsure as to why Pheonix had asked me to accompany him and Pirate Pete on the boats to look at the floating wood. Maybe it was to give me a breather from the medical bay, all of the events that had happened with the pirates had left me drained, and the untimely death of the captain had shocked me deeply. I had tried in vain to help him, I hope that no one blames me, I wish there had been more that I could have done for him...

"So Pheonix, what do you think it could be?" I asked.

"I'm not too sure yet," I admitted, "it could be part of a ship... or maybe a crate. If we are lucky it could be a crate still intact and full of supplies that we desperatly need!"

A few days ago something had entered the kitchens and eaten most of our food. Although Arlo Banks' dog has been blamed... I beleive that the wolf is the culprit...

"It may also be nothing of course," I continued, "it could just be the bark of a tree... but that raises the question - what is the bark of a tree doing so far out here?"

We arrived at the floating wood and Pirate Pete began to drag it into the boat with his ore...

On the Kingston we looked out towards the small rowing boat. It was now quite far away from us and we could just make out the three people onboard pulling the wood onto the boat.

An odd mist was beginning to raise from the water and cloud the sky. I didn't like it. It was a cold mist that seemed to come in at us from all directions. It was a grey, lifeless mist. I shuddered.

Soon the mist around us was so think that I could no longer see the small boat. I wondered if the mist had covered them also or wether it was just us?

I looked up to the crows nest where Sleepy I was on duty.
"Can you see the boat?" I called up to him...

On the boat the thick mist filled the air.

"Errr, Phoenix do you think we've gone abit too far out?" I said uncomfortably, trying to bring in the floating wood.

I looked around, I could hardly see our ship. I had a bad feeling about been so close to the unchartered waters, the denseness of the mist didn't help too...

I managed to drag the floating piece of wood aboard. I picked up the damp wood and its shape seemed familar.

"Say, this looks quite like part of a ships hull." I span it round and held to the air, Emmsi and Phoenix looked at it.

I too was worried about the fog, we did seem to be an awfully long way out, and it was difficult to see too far in front of ourselves.

"What's that?" I asked, pointing towards sometihng on the piece of wood. "Give me it here Pete," I said, taking it off of him, "it looks like writing, see here?" I said pointing to something yellow painted on the wood.

I looke at the fog... there was something strange about it. I had spent most of my life at sea yet I had never seen fog like this before.

"We shuld start heading back," I said now that the wood was onboard. I grabbed the oars and began to row back towards the Kingston.

"What does the writing say?" I asked Emmsi and Pete.

Phoenix started to row steadly back to the ship through the thick mist. I picked back up the piece off wood, that looked like a ships hul

There was yellow writing painted on which reads:

'ILOR'

I said it out loud. "It looked like most of the writing is missing too" I added, as I sniffed the dense fog.

"Could it mean Sailor?" I suggested, "That sounds like it could be the name of a ship?" I said.
