Just thought I'd ask all you military wives about your night-hubby-gets-deployed ritual as I sit here and partake in mine! LOL.

Right after Dan is off to go back to work wherever in the world, I go home and VEG out. Movies, and comfort food. I'll get on the computer and totally email everybody while listening to some hard rock. Get outside to smoke and chat up everyone on the phone.

I cry a LOT then I meet up with friends or family and eat a LOT then I just try to get back to life, but i usually have a really hard time and I can not move any of his stuff it takes like two months.

I don't really have one. I just try to pretend it isnt for real.

Yeah, I think I did the same thing..went home and called everyone I knew would listen to me and ate alot!! Oh yeah, I can't forget crying my eyes out in the shower either.

I've only been through one so far (2nd in a couple of weeks) I didn't have much time to get upset. My son had to have surgery the day before, so my husband left then I went immediately to the hospital to pick up my son, took the kids to lunch and then sat outside watching the sky because we live by the airfield and I knew what time they were leaving. I probably sat there for two hrs only to learn later that his plane was delayed and he was sitting back on base for a few more hours alone. This time, I don't want to think about it yet

After we had left my hubby , it was pretty late so we went home. I put jarith to bed.. and then after layed on the couch for hours and had a completely sleepless night.. And the next morning tried to just go on like he is only at work.. had to be strong so jarith wouldnt get so upset

my hubby doesn't leave for a couple of weeks but I already have that night planned out I'm coming home crying and drinking after Krystalyn goes to bed I plan on swimming some that night too most likely before I drink because they really don't like you in the pool drinking

Yea, the only time I went out drinking after he was gone was when he went to Korea the first time. I dropped him off at the airport and then headed to my hometown bar where my sis-in-law, her boyfriend and all our other friends were waiting for me. They did funny karokee and bought me drinks!

we have his first deployment coming up next tuesday!
i don't know yet what i am going to do but i know 1 thing for shure that i'll be crying the whole time!

Oh my hubby leaves in a couple weeks and I am so lost. I don't know how to handle it. Whenever I get sad I just want to be alone. So I will probably lock myself up in the house and pretend there is no outside world or go to my dads and hibernate in there until I feel somewhat better to come out again.
