My English 111 class is driving me insane! I have never despised a class or teacher as much as I despise this one. Professor Alphin is great when it comes to discussions, but when she's explaining herself... prepare for mass confusion. It takes her twenty minutes to explain something... but she's so confusing and so repetitive that it makes you feel like an idiot because, by the end of it, you still won't understand.

Oh-- and you wanna know something else? She doesn't like my essay. Wanna know why? Apparently, she thinks my sentences are too complex and my vocabulary out of my league for my age. She would rather I write short, simple sentences with average vocabulary. Um... last time I checked, I was in college and NOT middle school.

As if it's not bad enough that we basically have to write an essay on, essentially, being white/black but now she's limiting how complex our sentence structures can be and the vocabulary we decide to use. Banking concept, much?

And some of the people in the class can be extremely irritating. There was this one girl today who bashed the entire teacher population at Godwin. Yeah, some teachers are horrible, but to classify them all into one category when the material we were reading does that more than enough... I swear it was like World War III or something in the classroom. What kind of a discussion is it if the teacher lets two people dominate the entire conversation and everyone else with an opinion can't get a word in edgewise?

For the first time in class, I actually had something to say, but did I get a chance to say it? No. Because the teacher allowed two or three people to rule over the "discussion" the entire class period.

Arggg... I'm so damn frustrated right now. I really wish I had dropped that class now. The class is incredibly stupid. Heck, this SCHOOL is stupid.

Might as well finish this semester and transfer myself to VCU, directly into their medical program. Beats hanging around J Sarge and feel my brain cells slowly decrease everyday.

THANK YOU!

My class is very similar in fact -- shhh don't tell but after Economics today I couldn't bear to go so I went to Barnes and Nobles and Starbucks instead.

I wrote a paper for my class and I was told that my 25$ words were to much and I needed to go down to 10 cent words. The word I used was "provisional".......I feel like my brain is melting whenever I've in that class. I went from an honors English class where we would discuss Shaksphere and such and now...now we learn how to edit 5 sentence paragraphs.

Morgan! We were supposed to skip together, remember?! Especially if it's to Barnes and Noble and Starbucks! After your economics class... would have been right before my English 111 class. X_x;;

And I remember that because you told me. With the two of us and English... it's no wonder we'd be going insane. God, I'm so sick of it already. I swear I can feel myself growing less intelligent by the day. -___-;;

I don't care if two of the four classes I'm taking won't even transfer to VCU. I'll retake the damn classes at VCU if I have to, but I'm going to try all that I can to transfer after this semester.

Lol sorry...
Yeah I was in the middle of economics when I decieded to skip, I think it was on my mind because we mentioned IHOP earlier in the car. I was really really really grrr-ed out by the mere thought of English class so I was like

"umm goodbye" and left before I thought I needed more caffine so I went to B and N for a little "no more stupid English classes that make me stupid" time.

@Morgan: Next time... wait for me. xD Especially if what you decide to skip is English. We'll do it together. lol.

@Cat: Yes. -____-;; Which is why I'm going to try to transfer to VCU. I'm so done with J Sarge... I got a damn 95 on the reading placement test and a 94 on my English. I refuse to pretend to be less intelligent than I am in English. The teachers at J Sarge can go to hell! Arrrgg!!!

Jenn mabey we can talk to someone about this...I seriously think we should be able to test out of a class that limits our educational intelligence rather than actually teach us stuff...

I don't know if they have that option for English class though. I know they have it for computer classes. [That's how I got out of taking ITE 115 because I got a 95 on the test. I have the credits for it already...]

In English, I don't think you're allowed to do that... are you? o.o;;

Mabey if we can prove how the class is making us stoopid....
