im sure like me many of you went out and bought harry potter books today (or if you're lazy like me got them delivered to your door)!
but anyways if anyone has finished it i was wondering what you thought of it
personally i can't quite make up my mind if i liked it or not...
i think i will have to read it again and decide then..
the end was really how i expected it which was kind of disappointin as i'd hoped that JKR would perhaps put some twist into it that no-one expected... the rest of the book i thought was pretty good though
i managed to read it for a whole day which is saying something because my persistance with books really isn't that great
but yeah what do you all think?

It took me a day to read it and I cried last night over it.
I really thought it was fantabulous! And quite suprised that my mum was correct about Dumbledore planning his death with Snape, I mean... I completely dismissed the idea when she told me after reading HBP, so kudos to my mum.

I loved the use of polyjuice potions and through every scrape they went through, I thought that Ron or Hermy would die at some point. Yet, instead they kissed which I thought was so cute. happy.gif

I cried when Dobby died (so proud of him!) and when Harry saw the 'spirits' of Lupin, Tonks etc.

But still, I think Harry should have died. I may be cruel but I really didn't like the ending with that they all got together and had children named after everyone who died, it was really corny in my opinion (and I really, really don't like Ginny). If, when Voldie first killed Harry, Voldie died too then it would be a sort of sacrifice and I would be so in love with Harry for doing it, and yet, he doesn't. But still... I guess it's a childrens book after all, it would be a bit depressing.

The ending reminded me of a fan-fic, they all live happily ever after and it's really stupid and open. If she left it out it would have made the book 10 times better.

Then no more HP! (till the movies) sad.gif

It took me the weekend to read it only because I had to keep passing it to my sister so she could it too, but then my mum gave up & just bought another copy.
Yeah, I thought they could've done without the epilogue but what can you do?
I liked the book overall probably because it was really different from the other ones. Ron was probably my favourite in this one becasue he didn't annoy me as much. The deaths that occured sort of suprised me but not so much. In every chapter where any sort of danger was imminent I kept yelling "So & so's going to die!".
But it's still really sad especially with Lupin & Tonks seeing as they had a kid & all, and Dobby. I very nearly almost cried at the bit where Harry found the Ressurection Stone. I could feel the knot forming in my throat & everything.
And like, dude GO SNAPE. I was like "awwwwww" when his story was told.
Poor thing. But it was nice that Harry's kid was named after him.
Harry needed to get with Luna, she's just way cooler than Ginny.
The ending was okay. Not as Earth shattering as I'd hoped, but still good. Everything was wrapped up nice & neatly. I really wanted JK to explore a some sort of relationship between Harry & Malfoy (& he's like sooo hot) because they did after all use BOTH Malfoys wands in the end.
Techincally Harry did die in some sort of twisted way where he really didn't die....but did.
But try not to think about it, it'll give you a headache.
So like you know, whatever.

leaving myself time to think i have decided i liked it except the epilogue
it was sort of pointless and didn't really tell us anything we wanted to know i mean their kids names are sweet but i would've prefered to know sort of what happened in the wizarding world after voldemort was gone
i've heard she's bringing out some book with what happened to other characters and such so i'm hoping that will come soon

A friend of mine told me that the reason why JK did the epilogue was so that no one could write a Harry Potter rip-off using the events after Voldemort dies as the plot.
She still could've made it better &/or longer.

finished it after getting this morning.
i don't think i've ever read that fast. ever.

i thought it was all rather predictable, no twists at all. well, what happened with Harry when he died was a twist, but i don't think mrs malfoy would ever do that.
i didn't cry, very close with Dobby.

man, he was a cool elf.
and the whole thing with Lupin and Tonks.

I almost cried with all the deaths & such but my favourite chapter was Snapes Worst Memory and when he's just about to die and he asks Harry to look at him so he can see Lily's eyes.
-breaks down in tears-
